BRAVE: New Disney Movie

Disney’s Movie, "BRAVE"

Thumbs up: Breaks female stereotype of helplessness

Thumbs down:She is too defiant against her mother

Like other Disney Princesses, Merida is at odds with her parents; but her primary opposition is her mother, Elinor and they have lots of brawls during the movie.

Incidentally, ever notice how in Disney’s previous movies the princesses are depicted as having lost their mothers or having significant relationships with their fathers. Now why would Disney want to erase mother figures?

Back to Braves carrot topped heroine, Merida; she balks at the lessons her mother imposes on her and acts more like a prince than a princess. She is a tomboy and expert bowman. This is simply another movie made to alter the minds of our youth. Merida is actually very cute as is her Scottish accent. Brave is out in theaters now and presented in 2D and 3D.

In a way, it has a good lesson for young ladies, being that they can hold positions in the future which some would consider to only be for men and assist in breaking the stereotype of the way females are viewed as but I think it could have been less of a mother daughter struggle.
We have enough of that in the real world.

I am a bit suspect about this movie.
